Basil Stir Fry with Chili Lime Jackfruit

Ingredient List
  • 1 tablespoon peanut or vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 1 small head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 1-2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 10.6-ounce package Upton’s Naturals Chili Lime Jackfruit
  • 1/2 cup loosely packed basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Chili sauce, to taste
  • 4 cups cooked rice



  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Lime wedges
  • Sliced green onions
Heat the peanut or vegetable oil over medium-high heat in a large cast iron pan or wok. Sauté the onions and garlic for 4-5 minutes or until the onions start to brown. Add the carrots, broccoli, green onions, and 1 tablespoon soy sauce. Cook for 2 minutes.

Deglaze the pan with lime juice, and add the jackfruit, breaking up the large pieces, but keeping some size variation. Continue to cook until the vegetables are tender, adding the basil at the last minute, letting the leaves wilt slightly.

Remove from heat. Taste-test and add the other tablespoon of soy sauce if desired, as well as the sesame oil and the chili sauce, to taste. Serve over rice garnished with fresh basil leaves, lime wedges, and sliced green onions.
